Want optional professional input?
You’re in control
Most users complete their IRS forms independently using Turtle Tax. If you choose, you may request a brief introductory consultation with an Independent Tax Pro from our nationwide network to discuss next steps or available professional services.
If you decide you want additional support, you may independently engage:
A Tax Pro to review your completed information or provide representation before the IRS, or assist with preparing any required or missing tax returns for filing compliance.
All professional services are optional, arranged directly with the professional you select, and paid directly to that professional. Tax Debt Pros is not a law firm, does not provide legal or tax advice, and deos not receive legal or tax preparation fees.
Pricing Questions
Which plan is right for me?
It depends on what you can afford each month. If the IRS standards show you have nothing left to pay, Currently Not Collectible asks the IRS to pause collection. If you can pay over time, a Payment Plan sets up monthly payments. If you can’t pay the full balance before the IRS’s time to collect runs out, an Offer in Compromise asks to settle for less.
Not sure? Try our free Tax Debt Tool first. It shows your options and estimates in minutes, with no personal information needed.
Can I upgrade later?
Yes. You only pay the difference: $100 to move from Currently Not Collectible to a Payment Plan, or $200 from a Payment Plan to an Offer in Compromise. Your answers carry over; you’ll only answer what’s new.
The Offer in Compromise package already includes everything in the other two, so you can switch paths at no extra cost.
What is your refund policy?
You have a 14-day refund window to answer every question and get comfortable with the app. The window ends early when you choose to see your results, open Final Review, or view or download a completed form or document. The app always asks before that happens, so it’s never by accident.
To request a refund, go to My Account; a person reviews every request. See our terms for full details.
Are there any other fees?
Turtle Tax is a one-time payment, plus any applicable sales tax. There’s no subscription.
The IRS charges its own fees, which you pay directly to the IRS: for example, the $205 application fee and an initial payment for an Offer in Compromise, or a setup fee for some payment plans. Low-income taxpayers may qualify to have these waived or reduced. A Currently Not Collectible request has no IRS fee. The app shows the fees that apply to your case before you mail anything.
